Programming Note:

There will be a brief break in in-person ECI Classes from September-December of 2026. If you have a group of 10 or more individuals that would like to go through an in-person course, we can schedule a private class. To do so please reach out to [email protected]. Until then, please select the "Keep me updated on future classes" option on the Class Registration Form at the end of the sign up process.

FAQ

  • What can I expect during the in-person course?

The class will be divided up into learning units that will include classic lectures, videos, and interactive exercises. In-person courses may vary by topic and activity, but all courses will include a presentation of the same information covered during the online course. Information includes Columbus' neighborhoods, facts about the city, the power of tourism, and more. An overview of the ECI program and benefits of the accreditation will also be covered.

  • Who should take the course?

The Experience Columbus Insider (ECI) accreditation course is designed for individuals and organizations that have a direct interest in promoting Columbus, tourism, hospitality, and/or community engagement. Typical participants include Hospitality and Tourism Professionals, Customer-facing Employees, Event Planners and Organizers, Community Ambassadors, Businesses Seeking to Engage Tourists, and Columbus Enthusiasts.

  • Is $49 an annual fee?

$49 covers the cost for the first two years of benefits and class materials and activities. Every 2-years after will be $30.

  • Is there a deadline to complete the course after signing up?

Those who sign up to complete the in person course must do so by signing up for a class within 3 months. After 3 months, we reserve the right to cancel your membership and you will forfeit your registration fee. If you need an extension, please do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected]

  • Do I need to bring anything with me to the in-person class?

We will provide a folder of information and pen. Please feel free to bring a personal water bottle to reduce the number of plastic water bottles we go through in the class.

  • Am I able to change classes if a conflict comes up?

Absolutely! Email [email protected] and let us know which upcoming class you would like to transfer your registration to and we will be happy to accommodate that change.
